Hello,
Welcome to EMET in the Top End!
EMET (Emergency Medicine and Training) is an initiative by the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine to provide education, training, support and supervision to doctors and other health professionals working in emergency departments and emergency care settings who are not specifically trained in emergency medical care.
Emergency care delivery in the Top end is spread far and wide from the tip of the Tanami desert to the sandy beaches of East Arnhem land and the lush rainforest in between. Care to our patients is provided by a range of health care staff including Rural Generalists, General Practitioners, Junior Medical Officers, Remote Area Nurses, emergency nurses and emergency physicians and a patient can see many of these incredibly skilled practitioners in their health journey across the Top End from their door to our door and then back again.
The Top End EMET program hopes to deliver, and support emergency medical education to all these practitioners through upskilling opportunities, emergency specific webinar sessions and workshops, Emergency Medicine certificate and diploma delivery and much much more.
Please explore our website and see what we can offer you. We kick off our program in 2024 with a 5 weekly webinar series from the 22nd Feb. We hope to see you there!
