In 2017 PREDICT Bronchiolitis Knowledge Translation (KT) Study was conducted at 26 sites across Australia and New Zealand- Including Darwin

Findings: Targeted, theory informed interventions significantly improved adherence with these 5 key practice recommendations by 14.1% (adjusted risk difference, 95% CI, 6.5%-21.7%; P<.001)

KT SUSTAINABILITY STUDY: AIMS

  • Determine sustainability of improvements in evidence-based practices two years after completion of the trial at intervention group hospitals;
  • Determine if there are any improvements in control group hospitals;
  • Understand factors which influenced the sustainability of improvements in intervention group hospitals and;
  • Explore factors which may have contributed to improvements at control group hospitals.

RETROSPECTIVE MEDICAL RECORD AUDIT

  • Retrospective medical record audit
  • 300 patients randomised that meet inclusion criteria over 2 years (2018 + 2019)
    • Patient Inclusion Criteria
      • Infants aged less than 12 months (at time of presentation), AND
      • A recorded diagnosis of bronchiolitis on discharge from ED to home, OR
      • A diagnosis of bronchiolitis on discharge from inpatient area AND a recorded diagnosis of bronchiolitis in ED.
